Now available in limited quantities! The packaging will be bare-bones until we finalize it. Give us a few days to fulfill your order. In order to promote this product, we are also lowering the price of the required UMI-200 that goes with it to $99 (order separately). NOTE: This product listing now includes the UMI-200.

The STX-100 converts any of our wired meters to a wireless meter! It solves several problems:

  • Eliminates the need to trench long wires.
  • Makes a better wireless meter by keeping the transmitting part well above ground.
  • You no longer have to replace wireless meter batteries every season.
  • If you have a frequency output meter, you can reprogram the receiver that connects to your controller to produce scaled-pulse (Hunter) outputs.

The STX-100 connects via a standard 2-wire interface to a wired meter. For starters we recommend using it with our 1004-EX meter, although we have programmed other meters (CST, Rain Bird, Toro, etc.) and will continue testing them.

A simple mount bolts to a standard U-shaped garden stake (not included -- we got ours at Home Depot) that allows the solar panel to be oriented towards the sun. Two AA NiMH batteries are continuously recharged by the solar panel and should last for many years. The mount has 5 holes at 1.5" spacing and should be compatible with the stake in the picture that has both 4.5" and 6" hole spacing, as well as those with 1" hole spacing.

The STX-100 transmits over the long-range 915 MHz ISM band to a UMI-200 interface (not included), which is placed close to the controller (protected from weather). To the controller the interface looks like a wired flow meter. The UMI-200 offers a lot of programmability -- for example, controllers that require either frequency output (with arbitrary K-factor and offset) or scaled pulse signals (Hunter) can be supported.

The STX-100 includes one UMI-200 receiver that connects to the controller via a standard 2-wire interface.
